Vriesea inferno or Vriecantarea ‘Inferno’ - The Show-stopper!

Vriesea inferno or Vriecantarea ‘Inferno’ is a hybrid of Vriesea ensiformis x Alcantarea regina  by John Arden. Vriesea ensiformis and  Alcantarea regina are two of the many bromeliad house plants that are popularly known by their attractive colors and flowers. This large plant is a fast grower that can reach up to 2 meters tall and 1 meter wide.  It has beautiful, glossy, spineless leaves that come in emerald green color and are spirally arranged.  The sword-shaped, bright-red or crimson flower of Vriesea inferno has branched spire that opens to bright yellow flowers.

Vriesea inferno flower is a colorful long last bromeliad because it can last for months.  It is one of the outstanding big plants that can grow even in pots or containers with controlled or limited space.  The bold structure of the flower makes this plant one of the favorites in many cut flower arrangements.
