Tillandsia cyanea – The Classic Bromeliad

Tillandsia cyanea or Pink Quill is one of the mostly cultivated Bromeliad species.  Among the 374 species of the genus Tillandsia, Tillandsia cyanea stands out because of its spectacular inflorescence.  A closer look at the plant will let you witness one of nature’s breathtaking creations – deep pink or red bracts that form into a flattened plume offers to the heaves violet blue flowers.  The bracts and the flowers all sit atop a rosette of thin grass-like foliage, as if a queen is being held by its mighty warriors.

The flowers of Pink Quill lasts for a long period of time.  Blooming usually happens once or twice during winter.  So if you have one, make sure that you take good care of it and shower it with gifts of love and tender care this Christmas so you can be rewarded with beautiful flowers.
