Patio Bug Zappers - Do They Work on Mosquito Control?
The backyard landscape is coming along nicely and the patio complete with new brick pavers is ready for entertaining… but so are the mosquitoes! Have you ever wondered if those backyard bug lights or bug zappers work on mosquitoes at keeping the critters from biting away while you enjoy the outdoors?

From the research I’ve found the answer is false. Mosquitoes account for less than 1% of the insects who find the dead in a bug light. Mosquitoes are more fond of carbon dioxide and heat than ultra-violet light. The downside is the amount of beneficial insects lured to their doom. Ladybugs and other beneifical insects outnumber mosquitoes 20 to 1.
