Gamboge-Tree

GAMBOGE-TREE (gam-bohj’). Common name for Garcinia morella, a broad-leaved, slow growing tree from Asia grown in West Indies and sometimes in S. Fla., bearing fruit the size of cherries. Its juice yields the coloring matter (gamboge) of commerce.
