Ficus Elastica Burgundy

The ficus elastica Burgundy, or commonly called as the Burgundy Rubber Plant, is one man-made cultivar of the usual Rubber Plant that continues to fascinate growers and plant-lovers with its interesting color. For those who are keen observers, the Burgundy Rubber Plant has thick glossy leaves with burgundy coloration under very high light. The red midrib of the plant’s leaves also appears under this condition. However, under low light, these elliptical leaves would lose the reddish burgundy color and will turn all green.
If you happen to place a Burgundy Rubber Plant indoors under low light, always remember to rotate the plant weekly to evenly distribute the light on the entire plant. The Burgundy Rubber Plant are wonderful house plants but they can also grow well outdoors.
