Dracaena fragrans “Massangeana”

Dracaena fragrans “Massangeana,” commonly known as Corn plant, is the most popular cultivar of Dracaena fragrans. Its glossy dark-green leaves are wide and long and grows into a graceful arc from the stalk.

The popularity of the Dracaena Massangeana cultivar is due to the broad yellow stripe variegation that runs down the center of its leaves. In many greenhouses, the Massangeana produces off-white fragrant flowers during late spring. Less commonly seen are its round fleshy fruits.

Known to many as an old fashion indoor plant, the Corn plant is a suitable cultivar for indoor growing. It can grow into low shrub or tree-like plant but its growth can also be controlled by potting. The upright unbranched stems of the plant coupled with the rosettes of arching leaves make a beautiful topical clump that is suitable for mass planting or specimen culture. It is also good inclusions in mixed displays for gardens, landscapes, and arrangemants for it has a leaf shape of wide choice and color.
