Dracaena Limelight
For those who are lovers of Dracaena Janet Craig here is another Dracaena cultivar that possesses the same glowing feature as Janet Craig – Dracaena Limelight. Janet Craig is known for its glossy dark green leaves that seem to glow in dim light. Limelight, on the other hand, is characterized by its light-green leaves that glow in low interior light. At a younger stage the leaves of Limelight plant is yellow-green in color and turn into light-green at its mature stage. When observed under low-light location, the leaves show off their lasting lime or green color, thus the name Limelight. Inconspicuous raceme inflorescence is produced by Limelight under optimum growing conditions. Its roots are somewhat aromatic and carry a distinct light orange color. It has been recorded that Limelight is a product of the naturally-occurring branch mutation of Dracaena deremensis Warneckii.
The bright and unique lime color of Limelight leaves coupled by its favorable slow growing habit makes it a favorite upright component in mixed or groups of foliage plants. Its leaves make a perfect contrast in the midst of green foliage. So for foliage plant lovers who would like a subtle yet dramatic contrast, Dracaena Limelight is the perfect plant for you. A potted Dracaena Limelight should be the perfect indoor plant for homes, offices, lanai or shady patio.
