Codiaeum variegatum var. pictum Croton
Croton (Codiaeum variegatum pictum) is an ornamental shrub from the south Pacific that is popular and is extensively cultivated for its attractive and colorful foliage. This tropical plant is available in many brilliant colors. Its leaves range from green to shades of red at maturation. Each long glossy leaf is mottled with heavy splashes, spots, bands, and blotches of yellow and white colors. Some house specimens of croton pictum produce long clusters of small inconspicuous flowers.
TIP: Croton will produce the best color under bright light and cool temperatures.
Among the different types of shrubs, the crotons are considered to be one of the most beautiful foliage plants. Croton pictum is suitable for growing in containers.
