Have you ever come across with a plant that has leaves with dark metallic blue green sheen? Then you have personally met the popular Chamaedorea metallica. There is no other plant that has leaves with color resembling that of a gunmetal color other than the Chamaedorea metallica also known as metallic palm and miniature fishtail palm. This lovely plant is a single stemmed palm with undivided erect leaves that grow almost straight on the stems. Each leaf interestingly possesses a unique shape similar to a chalice or a fishtail with a peculiar notch at the tip. At some point, Chamaedorea metallic produces red, purple, or orange flowers. Small black fruits that are elliptical in shape are also produced by the plant.
