Vriesea Barbara

We have met a lot of bromeliads in various flower shops and it seems like most of them are quite tall to be put on desktops or tabletops. Although their beautiful flowers are big enough to catch our attention, is there any Bromeliad that is generally small but still has an attractive flower? Vriesea Barbara is the perfect answer to this need. Simply called as the Barbara, this plant is a small grower but with a very large inflorescence.
Vriesea Barbara shows a lovely display of bright red, thick and umbricate floral bracts. The green leaves of Vriesea Barbara form a dense rosette surrounding the plant’s large inflorescence. Each compound inflorescence contains 8 to 10 branches. The spreading appearance of the plant’s foliage supporting a grandiose inflorescence makes Vriesea Barbara an ideal pot plant. Potted Vriesea Barbara can be grown indoors or in shady and warm gardens.
