Calimeris

CALIMERIS (kal-i-mer’-is). A genus of about ten hardy perennial Asiatic herbs, resembling the North American perennial asters, but of lower growth, and blooming somewhat earlier. They are useful for massing or grouped in front of taller growths in the border. The species usually found in cultivation is the Siberian Calimeris incisa, with large ray flowers of purple or white, having yellow centers. Cultivation is the same as for native asters, and propagation is by seeds or division of the clumps.
