Calathea rosea Picta
Calathea rosea picta – it may be small and short but you will definitely love its exceptional ornamental foliage. The glossy leaves are large, dark green in color, and elliptical in shape. Each leaf is held on short reddish-brown petioles and has rosy-colored midrib. What is unique to this plant is that rose-colored irregular feathered ring that can be found between the leaf margin and the midrib. Also known as the Rose Painted Calathea or Rose Painted Prayer Plant, this plant also produces white and purple flowers.
The intricately patterned leaves of Calathea rosea picta makes it very popular in the horticultural world. But despite of its admirable beauty, Calathea rosea picta is surprisingly easy-to-grow and requires only minimal attention. Calathea rosea picta can be grown indoors as a decorative houseplant. Oftentimes, it is used in decorative plant containers. It is loved by many interiorscapers because it adds a tropical touch to any space. When grown outdoors, Calathea rosea picta can be a great groundcover. Calathea rosea picta stock adds color and variety to a mix border, garden bed, or with palms and other taller plants.
TIP: Calathea rosea picta must be watered with bottled water in areas where water is scarce or of poor quality.
