Calandrina
CALANDRINIA (kal-an-drin’-i-ah). A genus of low-growing, spreading, fleshy herbs of the Portulaca Family, native from British Columbia to South America. They are occasionally grown as annuals in rock gardens, or as edging plants in borders, where they require a sunny location. The flowers, which are of short duration, range from orange-yellow and coppery-rose to brick-red, or from crimson-magenta to light purple. Propagation is by cuttings or seeds.
