I live in the Seattle area and bought a mandevilla a year ago last spring. I had it outside in a pot with trellis and while the vine grew wonderfully, the flowers never came until late August. I moved it into the house in a sunny location in October and it continued to bloom & bloom thru December. I was doing some remodeling in that portion of the house and neglected the plant. I thought it had died. I cut it all back so I could use the trellis on another plant, moved the mandevilla planter outside, thinking I'd toss the plant and use the planter for something else. Lo and behold ... the darn thing came back. I started watering it and now it is flourishing, once again started to bloom in the first of September.
I guess I'll move it back inside once our days get too cool and see if it continues to flourish inside ... what do i know about Mandevillas ... ??? nothing - ha!

My Preference for indoor palms are Rhapis excelsa, Kentia Palm and finally Bamboo palm. The fan palm needs more light.

I always try a natural solution first like Neem oil if that does not work try something like Malathion.
