“The tuberous-rooted Begonia is a modern flower of great beauty and although the finest varieties are cultivated in pots, it has become deservedly popular in the garden for bedding. Plants may be raised from seed but many growers prefer to use the dry tubers; these should be planted in March 6 in. apart in shallow boxes containing loam 2 parts, leaf mould 2 parts and sand 1 part.”
