From the back of the Wills advertising card…
“The Auricula is an alpine plant which has found a permanent place in our gardens. Many modern show varieties are grown exclusively in pots, but the Alpine Auricula is at home in any good rich garden soil and a shady position where they may be left undisturbed for years. They are hardy evergreen perennials and flower in late spring. Seed may be sown in February in well-drained pots of sandy soil and placed in a frame. Offsets may be planted or potted up separately when lifting for replanting every third year.”
