From the back of the Wills advertising card…
“The Allwoodii is a successful modern hybrid combining the exquisite form and perfume of the old-fashioned Garden Pink with the perpetual flowering qualities of the modern carnation. It is a hardy perennial suitable for bedding, borders and rockeries and will do well in a sunny position in most gardens. Young plants should be planted out from August to November and February to June for the best results. Allwoodii can be propagated by cuttings or by layering from May to October.”
