African Violet Care – 6 Point Program
Here then is a six-point program which, faithfully followed, is known to produce fairly constant bloom on Saintpaulias:
- In winter, place plants preferably at east or north windows. Avoid strong sunlight.
- In summer, place plants at north windows, kept open for long daily periods, or on a lightly shaded porch.
- Maintain a house temperature of 70 -72 degrees with no more than a t10 degree drop at night.
- Maintain a fresh atmosphere but in avoiding closeness be mindful of the dangers of chilling.
- Water from the saucer with room-temperature water. Apply enough each morning to be absorbed by afternoon.
- Make special provisions for humidity if the air in the house is noticeably dry or if temperatures in cline to rise much above seventy degrees.
