Are you tired of seeing greens on your garden?  Is green an over used color in your landscape?  Then try something different…check out Aechmea blanchetiana.  The attractive orange or gold foliage of Aechmea blanchetiana that forms a basal rosette will add a crowning glory in your garden.  The red tips on each elliptical leaf will add more glitter to your garden as well.  At the center rosette of leaves are the pink or salmon-pink Aechmea blanchetiana flowers that have colorful flower stalks; each, consists of clusters of red and yellow bracts.

TIP: The golden orange foliage color of Aechmea blanchetiana can only be seen with the plant is grown in full sunlight.

Aechmea blanchetiana is a popular and easy-to-care landscape bromeliad.  Its spectacular floral display is long lasting and can be used for indoor cut flowers.  Aechmea blanchetiana grows best in a well-drained soil, thus it makes an ideal ground over or a container plant.  When mixed with green foliage plants, its foliage and floral colors would make an excellent accent even in partially shaded landscape areas.
